Our interpretation of headwear for fashion-conscious pilots and flight athletes - thought through to the last detail

Flying is (extreme) sport. As a glider pilot you are dependent on the energy of the sun, but you still have to protect yourself from harmful UV radiation. On board of a powered aircraft you are often exposed to the sun for hours as well– extreme conditions in FL131 above the clouds.

We therefore know from experience: the basic equipment for every pilot is head covering and sunglasses. It's not for nothing that many flight schools and clubs say "Only board with a cap"!

With the FL131 baseball cap you cut a good figure on the ground and in the air

  • The shorter peak offers sufficient sun protection, but does not limit the field of vision
  • Thanks to the low weight and the ventilation holes you keep a cool head in the cockpit and on the ground
  • The color "cloudbase grey" and the matt fabric reduce reflections in the cockpit glazing
  • We deliberately omitted a button so that canopy and head remain okay if the seat belts were not tightened sufficiently in turbulent weather. A button would also be uncomfortable when wearing a headset.
  • The size of the cap can be adjusted so that it stays even in a strong gust where it belongs - on your head!

Baseball Cap FL131 – The Cap for Pilots

What is the difference between Baseball Cap 131 and the Snapback Cap 130?

The FL131 baseball cap is slightly rounder in the front than the FL130 snapback cap. The peak of the baseball cap is 5 mm longer and is usually worn slightly more curved than the FLIGHTLVL snapback cap with the straight peak.

In terms of color, the baseball cap FL131 is a shade darker. In summary: It is a question of your own style whether you choose the baseball or the snapback version. Technically, the differences are small.
