Our interpretation of headwear for fashion-conscious pilots and flight athletes - thought through to the last detail
Flying is (extreme) sport. As a glider pilot you are dependent on the energy of the sun, but you still have to protect yourself from harmful UV radiation. On board of a powered aircraft you are often exposed to the sun for hours as well– extreme conditions in FL130 above the clouds.
We therefore know from experience: the basic equipment for every pilot is head covering and sunglasses. It's not for nothing that many flight schools and clubs say "Only board with a cap"!
The FL130 CAP was developed specifically for the needs of pilots
- The short visor offers excellent sun protection while at the same time restricting the field of vision as little as possible
- Thanks to the low weight and the ventilation holes you keep a cool head in the cockpit and on the ground
- The color "cloudbase grey" and the matt fabric reduce reflections in the cockpit glazing
- We deliberately omitted a button so that canopy and head remain okay if the seat belts were not tightened sufficiently in turbulent weather. A button would also be uncomfortable when wearing a headset.
- The size of the cap can be adjusted so that it stays even in a strong gust where it belongs - on your head!
